Men's jiu jitsu kimonos

Men's pattern jiu jitsu kimonos, in the brand's three lines: Hirosuga, Newara and Essentials. 400 or 450 GSM pearl weave jacket depending on the line, 10 oz ripstop pants and IBJJF and AJP approval.

Which line to choose

Essentials: 400 GSM pearl weave jacket. It's the balance point between density and weight, and the sensible option for daily training.

Newara: limited edition with orange and yellow embroidery. Same construction, different finish.

Hirosuga: 450 GSM jacket, the heaviest of the three lines. Harder to grip and more durable, in exchange for more weight.

What fabric weight means

GSM measures the density of the jacket, which is where the grip battle happens. A higher weight means fabric that's harder to grip and lasts more seasons, but also more weight on you during a match.

400 GSM covers daily training well. 450 makes sense if you compete or if you get gripped by the collar a lot.

IBJJF and AJP approval

They meet the uniform rules: permitted colors without mixing jacket and pants, collar within thickness and stiffness limits, and regulation sleeve and pant length.

The differences between the two federations are explained in IBJJF vs AJP.

Sizing

Our kimonos are heat pre-shrunk before sewing, so don't buy a size up to compensate for washing. That said: if you're between two sizes, take the larger one. If it's tight from the start, it will stay tight.

Washing and care

Wash inside out in cold water, 30 °C max. No bleach, no fabric softener —it alters the consistency of the collar—, no tumble dryer and no iron. The full washing guide has the details.
